Tucker did not set out to con the American people. His way of selling did con the people. In order to get the needed attention he started an add campain based on a drawing. Later when money was needed he sold dealerships before the first cars were built. Some of this can be blamed, but the first ass canpain was was a fraud. He promised the best safety fetures, yet these were not tested until the production was under way. Tucker was a con man with out intending to be one.

I think Tucker was a brilliant man with many ideas, he just did not have enough time to play out his ideas.

Preston Tucker was a great man. The people of America had never seen someone so honest and dependable, so they didn't know what to do but to put him down and call him a fraud. All he cared about was fulfilling his dream and providing a safe, dependable vehicle for the American people. In my mind, Preston was a hero, whose dreams inspired many people.

I feel that Tucker was and still is a hero. He went against what others told him not to do so that he could protect his consumers. His using of seat belts was something that helped everyone. His ideas will always be used by posterity.

I think Tucker was a Brilliant man of course, because he could look into to the future of ability. But more than knowing what we need, he had the ambition to get it done. He had a drive to keep on going and not give up no matter what obstacles he was thrown up against.
He showed us that as long as you believe, keep on dreaming, and don't give up, and work hard in life, you can achieve the goals you would want to accomplish.

REGARDING "MR.B'S" QUESTION

Postby AMBER LANDIS » Mon Jan 28, 2002 11:28 pm

I BELIEVE THAT TUCKER WAS A SMART AND BRILLIANT MAN WHO INVENTED THE IDEA OF SAFETY IN WHICH SHOWED THE WORLD THAT HE COULD MAKE A WONDERFUL CAR AND THAT IT WAS WHAT HIS CAR COULD DO THAT MADE IT GREAT. IT WAS SAFE, FAST, AND LUXURIOUS. HE ALSO MADE PEOPLE REALIZE THAT THE IDEAS AND DREAMS OF A MAN ARE WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT.

I think that that tucker was a great thinker. His only problem was that he was ahead of his time and people didn't like that any. He should have waited a little longer before comeing out with his car
